چکیده
Development of antimicrobial resistance imposes a serious threat to the timely and efficient healing mankind who fall prey infectious agents. It is increasingly being reported day by throughout world. Irrational overuse antibiotics coupled with unavailability regional or local antibiogram aggravates situation further. To understand present antbiogram data for this region bridge existing knowledge gap about same particular region. Two year was retrospectively analyzed from 750 bedded tertiary care centre. A total 1143 non repeat isolates were studied, their profiles analyzed. Percentage Gram negative bacteria obtained 59.6%, while Positive in 40.4% isolates. (22.8%) most common organism isolated, followed Staphylococcus aureus (14.2%), Other sp(12.8%), sp(12.6%), (9.4%), complex(7.4%), Miscellaneous Bacteria(13.4%). An alarming number found be Multidrug resistant isolates(MDRs). With panel tested bacterial isolates, only Fosfomycin(1.5%), Nitrofurantoin(16%) & Chloramphenicol (19%) exhibit <20% resistance. Antibiotics positive which low observed Vancomycin (0%), Linezolid (0.1%), Teicoplanin (<1%), Aminoglycosides (18%), Nitrofurantoin(15%), Chloramphenicol(6%) Tetracyclines(11%). Extended Spectrum Beta lactamase(ESBL) prevalence estimated 63.6% , 82.4% Klebsiellapneumoniae. Methicillin (MRSA) seen 54% Inducible clindamycin 35.9% high time that we shift our focus internationally nationally available on locally prevalent antibiotic pattern. will ensure faster patient recovery at lesser cost also prevent undue development drug

Characterization and antibiogram of Uropathogenic Escherichia coli from a tertiary care hospital in Eastern India
Escherichia coli is one of the commonest bacteria causing urinary tract infections (UTIs), especially in women[1]. Urinary tract infections have an enormous disease burden, causing about 150 million cases per annum worldwide[2]. These E. coli strains causing UTI are often multi drug resistant, i.e. refractory to 3 or more different classes of antibiotic agents[3]. Proper susceptibility data fro...
